No experience is needed and we can provide the dirtbike and helmet. This is the perfect course for new riders, kids and families. You'll even get a MSF card that is required in many ORV areas.
Some street or off road riding experience is required and we can provide a dirtbike if needed. Youth may be permitted to join this training if they ride an adult-sized dirtbike.
This program is for experienced off road riders and graduates of the Intermediate Dirtbike Training. Riders will provide their own motorcycles and gear for these courses.
Trail training is for anyone who has taken a PSSOR course. This training is done in small groups with coaching specific to trail riding. Riders must provide their own motorcycle and gear.
Specialized training for larger dualsport and adventure type bikes when riding off road. The overnight camps include riding lessons, clinics, seminars, and meals!

PSSOR Intermediate Dirtbike Training

What is PSSOR Intermediate Dirtbike Training?

The PSSOR Intermediate Dirt bike Training is for riders looking to expand or learn general off road riding techniques. This course offers the skills and knowledge for riding off road and on trails. Key skills include slow speed control, hills, braking/sliding, picking up your motorcycle, body mechanics, improved turning, and quick reaction maneuvers.

You will also learn how to prevent injury, control traction and how to set your bike up for better control and comfort.

Some street or off road riding experience is required and we can provide a dirt bike if needed. Youth may be permitted to join this training if they ride an adult-sized dirt bike. This is also an excellent venue for street riders that are interested in becoming more skilled at traction control and technical riding.

What will I learn?

  • Riding posture (standing, sitting, weight transfer)
  • Slow speed control (clutch/throttle/brake coordination)
  • Picking up your motorcycle
  • Braking and evasive maneuvers
  • Surmounting obstacles
  • Starting/stopping, ascending/descending hills

How much time do we get to ride?

Your entire class time is spent on the course with plenty of hands-on instruction and real-world riding situations. Total class time for the school can vary from four to six hours depending on weather, breaks and class size and the abilities of the students.

How old do I have to be to take an off-road course?

The intermediate course does not have an age restriction however youth must ride or be able to ride an adult-sized motorcycle.

How much does it cost?

The PSSOR Intermediate Dirtbike Training costs $185 unless otherwise noted on the schedule page. Bike rental for the course is an additional charge.

Minimum course requirements:

  • Be able to ride a motorcycle (dirt bike or street)
  • A parental permission form if under the age of 18

What kind of gear is required?

  • US DOT compliant helmet (some will be available for student use)
  • Eye protection (goggles or face shield)
  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket
  • Long pants
  • Supportive boots that extend at least 3 inches above the ankle
  • Full-fingered riding gloves
  • Prepare for the weather (rain gear, sunglasses, snacks & drinks, etc.)

Recommended gear:

  • Dirtbike helmet
  • Elbow, knee, shoulder, neck protection
  • Chest protector
  • MX or dirtbike boots

How do I sign up?

  2. Once you find a training date you are interested in you may register:
    • Online (click the Register Now button next to your training date)
    • Call our office (253) 770-8888 (Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm)
    • In person at our office (address is at the bottom of the page, or call for directions)
  3. For your convenience you may use your Visa or Mastercard over the phone or in person at our office to secure your spot.
  4. You will receive a confirmation letter (receipt) prior to your course start date with the appropriate information including directions.

Will I get a lunch break?

Throughout the course you will be given breaks for drinks or snacks. There will not be time to leave the range to grab lunch so you will need to bring food and drinks with you. So please come prepared with plenty of fluids and snacks to keep you going throughout the course.

Do I need my own motorcycle?

We do have motorcycles available for rent if you do not own an appropriate motorcycle for training. Rental is only $50.00 per day, bikes will be fueled and serviced before your class. If you have a specific request or concern you will need to make this known at the time of registration. We cannot guarantee a certain model of motorcycle but do all we can to honor special request.

What type of motorcycles are available for rent during a class?

We have a variety of different motorcycles available from the major manufactures such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. Some common motorcycles that may be available are the Honda CRF125, CRF230, or CRF230T, Yamaha TTR125, TTR230, XT250, Kawasaki KLX250S, and the Suzuki DR200E. Bikes available depend on what you decide pull out for yourself from what we have in our current stock from our supporting dealerships.

Can I reserve a class for myself and family/friends only?

Here is a great option for you and your family... Bring out the whole gang and we will work around your schedule to get you trained at your convenience. With this option we can mix up the class with all different ages of students so daughter/son, dad/mom, cousins and uncles can come in the same class. You are buying a class of at least 6 students so feel free to invite others or take it for yourself as a private lesson.

Is there anything I can do to get ready for the course?

It is helpful to be in good physical condition so if you're used to sitting behind a desk or in a low activity environment get out and spend some time being physical before your class.
